Japan’s smartphone market is growing rapidly, which means CyberAgent today announcing a new ad platform specifically aimed at these devices isn’t surprising. Dubbed “Ameba for Smartphone Touch Campus”, the ads will be shown on the company’s Ameba-branded services in Japan – starting today.
CyberAgent says that on smartphones, these service have seen 700 million page views last month. The difference to other ad networks is that Touch Campus makes it possible to display “rich content” to boost the appeal of the ads (instead of simple display ads).
This content can include animations, coupons, e-book sample pages or video material.
Initially, Touch Campus will be available exclusively for ads on the iPhone.
