Yahoo Japan Inks Deal With Twitter For Real-Time Search Results [Search Engines]

Big news from Japan’s search engine market: Yahoo Japan has landed a deal with Twitter that makes it possible to integrate real-time search pulled from Twitter in Yahoo Japan’s results pages.

Twitter is huge in Japan, and Yahoo Japan is not only the country’s biggest website, but it also gets the most search queries (even though Yahoo Japan is now using Google Japan search technology on the backend). In other words, the deal isn’t really surprising.

Last month, Twitter closed a deal with NTT Docomo, Japan’s largest mobile carrier (which will start integrating tweets into search results on i-mode later this fiscal year).
