CyberAgent’s Virtual World Ameba Pigg Passes 10 Million Users [Social Games]

C

CyberAgent‘s super-popular virtual world Ameba Pigg continues to grow. The service counted 6 million in January (when the company said it’s making US$7.2 million in sales per month from the service), before reporting 8.5 million domestic users in September.

Fast forward to today, and there are a whopping 10 million users for Ameba Pigg in Japan. To celebrate the occasion, CyberAgent set up a campaign site, created a special space within the virtual world, and offers new virtual items and several older items at half the price.

Besides communicating with other users, dressing up avatars, listening to concerts together, etc., users can play social games inside Ameba Pigg, too. Pigg Life, an in-world social gardening simulation, for example, racked up 1 million Japanese users in 3 weeks after launching in June this year.

Ameba Pigg’s international version, Ameba Pico, recently crossed the 4 million user mark.
