Capcom Opens Pre-Registration For Yet Another Monster Hunter Social Game [Social Games]

C

Monster Hunter, the super-popular (especially in Japan) action RPG series from Capcom, is getting the social game treatment again. Last year, Capcom released “Monhan Tankenki Maboroshi no Shima” on GREE where it went on to become a smash hit.

Now it’s DeNA that can look forward to a new “big” IP-based game on Mobage, following One Piece and Final Fantasy Brigade.

Capcom announced the release of “Minna to Monhan Card Master”, an entirely original game that isn’t available on consoles and has nothing in common with the GREE title.

Interestingly, Capcom has teamed up with Tokyo-based social game maker Gloops to develop the title: on GREE, the company chose gumi as their partner. Both companies are the biggest third-party developers on the respective platforms.

For Minna to Monhan Card Master, Capcom started accepting pre-registration earlier this week on Mobage.

The company explains:

“Minna to Monhan Card Master” is an original social game in which characters that appear in the “Monster Hunter” series of games fight by using cards. Players belong to a “guild” that is made up of users. The objective is to defeat other guilds, player will correct and strengthen their cards. In addition, the game incorporates a number of social elements. For example, players can receive benefits by exchanging items within the guild and advancing to management positions. Overall, the new game is structured to appeal to a broad spectrum of individuals, ranging from fans of the “Monster Hunter” series to fans of social games. Capcom plans to release smartphone and feature phone versions of this game at the same time.

Capcom plans to release the game on Mobage for feature phones and smartphones on February 21.
