Bandai Namco Now Counts 30 Million Social Game Users In Japan

B

Namco Bandai‘s social gaming business is doing very, very well: the company today announced it counts a total 30 million users across their social games offered on the Japanese market.

There are various reasons for this success: Namco Bandai has partnerships with Mobage and GREE, usually uses established IP from the entertainment or video gaming worlds, and just makes pretty good social games. And, of course, it’s simply a big company that leverages its position against the big platform providers in Japan.

Namco Bandai reported 10 million players just in January this year and 20 million in May.

The company says that its flagship title, One Piece Grand Collection, currently boasts over 4 million users on Mobage (the game is based on the impossibly popular One Piece manga and anime franchise).

Actually, social “space action” game Gundam Royal also reached 4 million users in August. Bandai Namco reveals that the other two Gundam games (Gundam Card Collection and Gundam Masters) contribute another – combined – 4 million players.

A third big title is star management sim The Idolmaster – Cinderella Girls, which has passed the 2.5 million player mark.
