Facebook Japan has sure observed this: Japan’s biggest social network Mixi today announced it has removed the “Search Friends Via Email“ function – after one day.
The reason: too many users protested against the new feature because of privacy and security reasons.
Mixi now says the function can’t be accessed for the time being and that it’s being reconsidered. I wouldn’t be surprised to never see the function appear on Mixi again.
This incident shows that social networking in Japan is a whole different ball game.
