It took Dwango years to release Nico Nico Douga in English, and after they finally did today, all I can say is that it is hugely disappointing, even for a beta release.
Dubbed Nico Nico (Dwango dropped the “Douga”, which is Japanese for movies), the site, in its current form, looks more like a pre-alpha than a beta version, but see for yourself.
Nico Nico Douga has been only available in Japanese for years, before Dwango translated the UI into German and Spanish in 2008. The English version, however is a standalone site that’s completely separated from the one users in Japan have access to.
