Smartphones are booming in Japan, and now CyberAgent has announced the “Ameba Smartphone Platform”, which will give developers access to an API to use communication channels Ameba users have, Ameba rankings, pictures posted on blogs etc.
With the platform, CyberAgent (obviously) wants to boost Ameba usage on smartphones. It has just become available for iOS, with Android expected to follow suit in the summer.
CyberAgent says they used the Pankia SDK, offered by Tokyo-based gaming startup Pankaku, as the technical base for the Ameba Smartphone Platform.
