App Ant: GREE Buys Another Social Game Maker In The US [Social Games]

A

I don’t think this is surprising to anyone: GREE just announced it has acquired another American company, following Openfeint and Funzio.

This time the target was App Ant, a social games studio based in California. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

App Ant has worked together with GREE to develop Dino Life, a social game for Android (download), earlier this year. Said game hit Google Play in May (but hasn’t made the jump to iOS yet).

GREE explains:

All members of App Ant Studios’ current team will be integrated into GREE, including its four founders, who will take leadership roles within the Game Development and Engineering teams.

GREE is expected to expand their international platform in the next few days (i.e. by rolling out more games and supporting more languages), which probably played a big role in this talent acquisition.
