The company opened the app to game developers in July last year. Most of the titles on “LINE Game” have been doing extremely well – social shooter Dragon Flight and city life sim Theater Town were just added a few days ago.
The 100 million downloads have been racked up by a total of 16 LINE-powered games, 14 of which are available worldwide. 55% of downloads came from outside Japan.
The newest addition is 3D sea life simulation LINE Easy Diver, which was released today (and is Japan-only for now).
NHN Japan has started to promote LINE Game in particular on national TV this month – a user acquisition method that usually works very well in this country.
